Ana Zirner (*1983) studied Islamic- and political studies as well as film directing in Berlin and directing for theater at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and at RESAD in Madrid. In 2012 she founded the collective satellit produktion that is based in Munich. Together with the choreographer David Russo and the dramaturge Martina Missel she creates documentary dance-theater-projects. In 2014 their production frei willig arbeiten won the Kurt-Meisel-Förderpreis. Since 2015 Zirner has also started working as a film director again. Her doc-series Was geht mich das an? aired on WDR on 2016. As a cultural manager she has worked for the Emergency Entrance Festival at Schauspielhaus Graz, in the direction of the independent theater PATHOS München and the Münchner Kammerspiele when Johan Simons was the artistic director. She is alumni of the ATELIER for Young Festival Managers of the European Festivals Association in Beirut and of the International Forum at Berliner Theatertreffen.
