Epona Hamdan (*1986) is a contemporary performing arts producer based in Berlin Germany.
She currently works for the author and director collective Rimini Protokoll and oversees both new productions and the international touring of individual plays. She studied ‘Theatre Studies’, ‘Islamic Studies’ and ‘English Philology’ at the Freie Universität Berlin and completed the certificate course ‘Biographical-Documentary Theatre’ at the Berlin University of Arts. Epona has worked at the intersection of content development and practical implementation for the Arab Film Festival, Ballhaus Naunynstrasse, Ballhaus Ost and the Akademie der Autodidakten, among others.
Long involved in social movements herself, she focuses on horizontal forms of organisation, feminism, postcolonial theories and the question of how socio-political and economic interactions can be explored and made visible aesthetically.
