Tabea Hopmans (*1995 in Kleve) completed her studies in English Literature and Cultural Studies as well as Communication Studies at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. After her master’s degree in 2019 and a subsequent assistantship at Rat&Tat Kulturbüro in Munich, she is active as a freelancer in the fields of dramaturgy, curation, production and cultural mediation. Due to her traineeship as cultural manager at PLATFORM Munich (2020-2021), she often works at the interdisciplinary interfaces between performing and visual arts with science, politics and (pop)culture. Consequently, she develops and realises curatorial concepts for exhibitions, performance programs, and cultural events which create and offer space for critical and subversive opinions, practices, and perspectives. As part of the advisory office Theaterbüro München, she is also involved in networking and offering workshops for Munich’s freelance artists. Furthermore, she contributes to Schau mer mal, an audience development series for the independent performing arts, to make the content, formats and people more visible to a wider audience in Munich.
Since July 2021, Tabea works at HochX Theater and Live Art in Munich.
She received a (partial) scholarship from the Department of Culture Munich for the course Kuratieren in den Szenischen Künsten.
